Eden's First Date

A great way to start the morning...

Early Monday morning, I went out to get the newspaper and this was the view:

he CAN fly

When Eli was ONE:

I knew he would love water

I knew he didn't hold back

I knew he was his own kid...not much like his brothers

I knew that he had ENTHUSIASM for life

I knew he loved adventure

I knew he wasn't shy

I knew he had a strong will

I knew he was smart

I knew he was hyper

I knew he was loving

I knew he was emotional

I knew he was skinny

I knew I loved him

And, now he is FIVE, and he starts kindergarten:

I know he will have fun

I know he will cry sometimes

I know he will be tired

I know he is still skinny

I know that I will miss him terribly

I know he will learn

I know I love him

and I think he will be fine

Eli...you CAN fly

Holding on to the moments

I'm trying to savor every moment with this little girl of mine. I hold her extra hard, extra long. I give her attention instead of cleaning my house. I look deep into her eyes. I smother her with kisses. What will it be like to no longer have babies in my home??? Today, I don't even want to think about it...I just want to freeze time.

Enjoying a QUIET Saturday...

Two kids asleep, three kids + one friend in the basement playing, husband gone to a church baptism...and me, well obviously I'm on the computer.

Today has been grand. There is NOTHING on my schedule except a date with the hubby. We didn't even have too many Saturday chores. I spent some time at Cost Plus Warehouse buying random things and made a stop at Cupcakeology (a yummy cupcake store nearby). I snuggled with my husband on the couch while he read a book and I took a NAP!

Life has been busy lately. OK...life is busy. You can't say life without adding the busy part. Every part of our lives has been busy lately...the bishop part, the kids part, the serving in the church part, the yard part, the house part, the "what am I going to cook for dinner part" all of it. And, that's ok. It's part of my wonderful life.

BUT TODAY...is RELAXING. Something I haven't done in a long while.
