Friends

I've said it many times, and I will say it again...friends rock.  I feel so blessed thinking about the friendships that have been kindled throughout my life.  I'm not deserving and hope that I'm as good of a friend to others as they are to me.

I was lucky enough to sneak off for a "Girls Weekend" with three of my dearest L.A. friends... that is where we all lived at one point.  These ladies met me when I was 8 months pregnant with my first child.  Our friendships have been through many things, many laughs, some tears, lots of wisdom and inspiration.  I know I could call these ladies with any problems I have, anytime, and they would be there for me.  I love them dearly.  It had been 10 years since we were all together.  10 YEARS.  Where does the time go???  We enjoyed ourselves in Palm Springs, at a lovely resort. Let's not wait ten years to do this again.

Diversity means.....

That was the theme for this year's PTA Reflections contest, and this is the photo Eli took (and designed) that won first place at his school.  Yes, pretty proud of this picture and of Eli. I actually want to blow this up and frame it. I think it is a thought provoking piece of art.   Just sayin'

I was driving today (like I always do) and was thinking about what my favorite things are.  People often ask me about my favorite color, favorite food, favorite place to travel to, favorite people to be with.

And, I realized something, I don't have favorites.  Not really.  I mean, why limit yourself to one favorite.

I love color.  All colors.  Really.  That is why I have so many in my house.  I guess I tend to be partial to blues, reds and yellows, but I really like all of them.  And, the more the merrier.

Favorite food.  Everything.  Honestly, I love to eat and I love to eat almost anything (not so big on lots of fish, but don't mind it either).  I do not like oysters. Not a big fan of beets.  But, that is pretty much the limit.  I love all kinds of food ..sometimes I'm dying for some decent Japanese food (unfortunately, I may have to fly back to Japan to get some), love Mexican, love Indonesian, love bakeries, love pasta (although, not as much as my husband), love crab, love salads, loves soups, love breads.

Ice cream...not a favorite kind here either. How can anyone say that there is ONE flavor that stands out amongst all of them.  Sometimes, I just want vanilla, other times peanut butter chocolate.  And, I love everything in between.  One time, I ate the yummiest peach ice cream ever.  Yum.

Favorite people.  Well, obviously, I'm sort of partial to my husband and kids, but I generally love all people.  I find different kinds of people so fascinating.  So, I guess you could say I have a spectrum of friends.  And, I have never been very clicky.  At least I don't think I am, am I? I just feel extremely blessed to associate with so many different kinds of people.  So blessed.

Favorite movie.  I love movies, but I can be just as happy seeing an action movie as seeing a romance.  The only movies I have a hard time with are Sci Fi, unless there is a romance in them as well.  Just  sayin'

Favorite music.  Again, I just love a little of everything from opera, to pop, to spiritual.  I do love deep voices like Johny Cash, or Karen Carpenter's alto voice.  Could listen to them all day.

Places to travel.  I love to travel and have been lucky enough in my life to do a good amount of it.  Although, there are so many places left....like South America, Italy, Australia and South Africa to name a few. I really love and learn about anywhere I go.  Just love to have the opportunity to stretch my neck out of my world into other people's worlds.  I love traveling to places where the cultures are drastically different then mine...like China,  Japan and Israel.  Those places will always stick strong to my heart.  I also love traveling to gorgeous places who's beauty take my breathe away...like the Lake Country in England, the rolling green hills in Scotland, the gorgeous cliffs against the ocean in Kuaui, and the Phi Phi Islands in Thailand.  Love those places. But even if I'm not traveling, I find beauty right where I am...have you seen the sunsets in the Land of Enchantment?

So, enough rambling, I love many things, not just one thing.  No favorites here.
